42 min: Marcus Rashford recceives a pass from Eriksen, advances and puts his laces through the ball. Forster saves.
41 min: After combining with Kane, Hojbejerg squares the ball across the face of the Manchester United goal and not for the first time, there’s nobody around to finish a decent move.
39 min: Bruno Fernades picks out Rashford with a delightful dink towards the far post. Peeling away from Lenglet, Rashford tries to steer a volley goalwards but Forster was lightning quick off his line to deny him.
35 min: Under extreme pressure from Casemiro, Richarlison still manages to square the ball across the Manchester United penalty area. There isn’t a sinner in a white shirt on hand to poke the ball goarwards and Diogo Dalot mops up.
33 min: Manchester United’s fans are serenading Harry Kane with a rendition of “We’ll see you in June! We’ll see you in June! Harry Kane, we’ll see you in June!”
31 min: Tottenham corner. Pedro Porro hugely overhits his delivery and the ball bounces wide.
29 min: From the corner, Perisic steers a header on target but David De Gea tips the ball clear.
28 min: Richarlison does good work combining with Hojbjerg down the left touchline and finds himself bearing down on goal with only David De Gea to beat. Instead of shooting himself, he inexplicably elects to try to pick out Pedro Porro at the far post, but his cross is intercepted by Luke Shaw. Woeful.
27 min: The corner is one off the training ground and … well, probably should have stayed there for another session or two before being showcased in public.
25 min: Bruno Fernandes shoots from distance and his swerving shot is put out for a corner by Fraser Forster, who probably could have done better and caught the ball.
23 min: A Bruno Fernandes shot from a very tight angle is blocked out for a corner by Christian Romero. Luke Shaw sends the ball towards the edge of the six-yard box, where Tottenham clear.
18 min: Ivan Perisic heads one off his own line as Manchester United threaten to double their lead. United carved open the Tottenham defence with alarming ease, Antony advancing towards goal after getting the better of the Croat.
United played the ball from right to left: Antony on to Fernades and on to Sancho. His first effort was blocked and his second, on the follow up, took a deflection off Porro and was goalbound, only for Perisic to clear with his head.
17 min: A Richarlison cross from the byline is cut out by David De Gea before it can get anywahere near Harry Kane, who the Brazilian was trying to find.
15 min: Clement Lenglet tries to pick out a Son run through the centre with a long ball from deep. Luke Shaw is on hand to cut the ball out before it can reach its intended target.
14 min: Son sticks out a leg to poke a loose ball into the path of Richarlison, cantering up the inside-left. He cuts inside and shoots straight at David De Gea. Offside.
13 min: Rashford takes the free-kick, whipping the ball a couple of yards wide of the far upright. Forster had it covered, even if it had threatened to creep in.
11 min: Rashford wins a free-kick on the back of a late tackle from Eric Dier. Free-kick for Manchester United, about 30 yards out, straight in front of the Spurs goal.
9 min: That Sancho opener was quite similar to Newcastle’s opener against Tottenham on Sunday. On that occasion it was Joelinton who cut inside to shoot, only for Hugo Lloris to parry his effort to the feet of Jacob Murphy.

Manchester United lead! The marking is non-existent as Marcus Rashford skips a tackle in midfield and picks out Sancho with a ball out wide to the left. With defenders backing off him, he cuts inside while advancing and then arrows a low diagonal effort into the far corner.
6 min: Porro picks up the ball out wide on the right again, advances, cuts inside and runs into ttraffic. Manchester United clear their lines.
5 min: Pedro Porro sends Son in behind with a nice ball down the inside right but the South Korean’s attempted cross hits the first man.
3 min: Casemiro sends an up-and-under towards Marcus Rashford, who is penalised for offside as he attempts to leave his markers trailing in his wake.
2 min: Richarlison lines up on the left-hand side of Harry Kane, with Heung-min Son on the right, a mildly intriguing state of affairs as you’d expect their roles to be reversed.

1 min: Manchester United get the ball rolling and almost immediately win a free-kick just inside their own half.
Not long now: It’s a filthy, dirty evening in North London, where the players of Tottenham and Manchester United are lined up in the tunnel of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They make their way out on to the pitch, where they line up either side of Anthony Taylor and his team of match officials for the last of the pre-match formalities. Kick-off is just a couple of minutes away.
Erik Ten Hag: The Manchester United manager has put his solitary change this evening (Sancho in for Martial) down to a rotation issue. “We have to manage [Anthony Martial’s] load,” he tells BT Sport. “That’s one thing. Another thing is Jadon is doing very well, Martial is also doing well, but we have to choose and can choose from a tactical perspective. So for today, we make this choice, but Sunday we can do different – with the number of games we have to play and [games] we have in our legs already, we have to rotate a bit.” Ten Hag also said Harry Maguire is not in tonight’s squad because he picked up an injury in training.
Eric Dier: In an interview with BT Sport, the Tottenham defender talks up Ryan Mason’s qualities as interim manager by saying “he knows the club inside-out and he knows the players very well”.
Uh-oh! Aren’t these the very qualities that earned Frank Lampard the Chelsea interim manager’s job?
Those teams: Bruno Fernandes has been passed fit to play in Manchester United’s midfield, despite fears he might miss out with an ankle injury. Erik ten Hag makes just one change from the team that beat Brighton at Wembley on Sunday, with Jadon Sancho coming in for Anthony Martial. Harry Maguire is absent from the match day squad, despite being available after suspension.
Ryan Mason makes three changes to the Tottenham side that disgraced themselves during the opening 20 minutes at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon. Fraser Forster replaces the injured Hugo Lloris in goal, while Clement Lenglet comes in to a back five, with midfielder Pape Sarr making way. Further upfield, Richarlison starts in place of Dejan Kulusevski.
The Brazilian has yet to score a Premier League goal for Tottenham and has not found the net for his side since scoring twice in a Champions League game against Marseille in early September. They remain his only goals for the club.

Early team news
Manchester United are without Lisandro Martinez, Donny van de Beek, Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay, who all remain unavailable. Winger Alejandro Garnacho is also sidelined with the ankle injury that has kept him out for the past six weeks. Midfielder Bruno Fernandes is also a doubt with an ankle injury he picked up against Brightoon but was due to undergo a late fitness test.
While Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrgio Bentancur and Yves Bissouma are all out for Spurs, their own only new injury concerns is Hugo Lloris, who was forced off at half-time in the match against Newcastle with a hip injury. Quite how much a loss the French goalkeeper would constitute is open to debate but Fraser Forster will start in his place should he miss out.
Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur v Man United
Following their weekend humiliation at the hands of Newcastle, the players of Tottenham are unlikely to receive the warmest of welcomes from their fans as they return to their own manor in a bid to make reparations. Spurs will line up tonight hoping to arrest a run of back-to-back Premier League embarrassments and get their increasingly forlorn, but not entirely extinguished hopes of a top four finish back on track.
With Cristian Stellini having been shown the door on the back of that fiasco at St James’ Park, there’s a new interim manager in town and he comes in the form of Ryan Mason, previously the assistant to the former interim boss. He takes charge of this evening’s game against a Manchester United side who are also capable of producing their own horror shows, most recently their Europa League defeat at the hands of Sevilla this day last week.
While United put that disaster behind them with narrow victory over Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, a win tonight would see them leapfrog Newcastle into third place, cementing their own Top Four credentials in the process. Kick-off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is at 8.15pm (BST), but stay tuned in the meantime for team news and build-up.
