Greek stocks ended higher on the Athens Stock Exchange pushing the general index of the market above the 1,050 points, but turnover remained low for the second day in a row.
The general index rose 0.71% to close at 1,052.43 points, with the Large Cap index rising 0.75% and the Mid Cap index ending 1.03% higher. Turnover was 67.84 million euros in volume of 21,851,517 shares.
Ellaktor (5.96%), OPAP (3.06%) and Titan (2.24%) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Helleniq Energy (-2.09%), Lamda Development (-0.95%) and Eurobank (-0.63%) suffered losses. Among market sectors, Travel (2.93%) and Constructions (1.90%) moved up, while Real Estate (-0.68%) and Insurance (-0.55%) moved down. Alpha Bank and Eurobank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 64 to 27 with another 28 issues unchanged.
Bitros (9.43%) and SIDMA (9.17%) were top gainers, while Spyrou Farms (-13.64%) and Evrofarma (-3.68%) were top losers.
